About NeuroSky, a true Brain-Computer Interface Technology
Mind over matter – at last humans can move objects with brainpower, by simply concentrating. Games are available right now, to be followed by applications in the automotive industry, healthcare and education.
The revolutionary NeuroSky chip is used on NeuroSky’s own MindSet headset and in products by partners Mattell (MindFlex) and Uncle Milton (Star Wars Force Trainer.)
The MindSet uses the advanced NeuroSky chip and one dry sensor to sense and interpret the wearer’s brainwaves. The information is sent by Bluetooth technology to a computer. The computer uses the brainwave information to determine the level of attention / meditation. For games like the MindSet video game, and the MindFlex and Star Wars Force Trainer physical games, the user’s level of attention is transformed into action.
- Winner, TechAmerica, 2009 Innovator Award, Consumer Electronics
- Winner, Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal's 2008 Emerging

The games are fun and in stores right now. The NeuroSky web site offers the free SDK download for anyone who wants to start developing his own games or applications. Exciting medical application results will be announced in several medical journals within the coming weeks.

NeuroSky in Action
The US Olympic Archery Training Center has found that use of the NeuroSky headset and NeuroView software enabled measurements showing that elite archers have increased attention and increased relaxation. In contrast, mid-level archers have increased attention and decreased relaxation. With this information and feedback during training, archery trainers were able to improve their training methods. This scientific report is available.
At a Buddhist meditation conference, monks tried the technology and had phenomenal control, confirming their meditation skills. This result prompted an invitation from the National School Board Association to NeuroSky CEO Stanley Yang to speak about applying the technology to education.
Currently, researchers are studying applications in ADD/ADHD, Anger Management, Education, Alzheimer’s, Autism, PTSD, Sleep Disorders, Neuro-rehabilitation, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, etc.
On a consumer level, automobile manufacturers are testing the incorporation of the NeuroSky chip into future cars.
