The Family Partner for this house is Frances Marquez and her daughter, Amanda. From Frances: “My daughter Amanda is non-verbal, visually impaired, non-ambulatory who is quadriplegic. At 18 months of age, Amanda was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Amanda’s father abandoned us. Currently I am working part-time with Las Cumbres Learning Center as a service coordinator/developmental specialist. I am fortunate that they are flexible with me. My hours are according to my daughters schedule and disability.”

Habitat for Humanity of Española Valley & Los Alamos, Inc. is honored to host the 500th Habitat Home to be completed and dedicated in the State of New Mexico! There are 17 Habitat Affiliates throughout the State of New Mexico. Together we have completed 500 Habitat Homes since the beginnings of Habitat for Humanity in New Mexico 20 years ago. Since its founding in 1976, by Millard & Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International has built 225,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 30000 communities with safe affordable houses, becoming a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty housing.

Habitat for Humanity of Española Valley & Los Alamos, Inc. was founded in 1994 and is a local affiliate of Habitat International. In our 13 year history we have completed 21 home repairs and are delighted to mark the completion of our 5th new house with the celebration of the 500th Home Dedication.
