Join The Dot™ in partnership with Rock the Vote, is providing a one-of-a-kind opportunity for you to literally be in the face of your favorite candidate.
The more people who come to the website to get their free dot in their chosen candidate’s portrait, the faster the portraits progress toward completion. “This is a friendly and positive competition,” says celebrity portrait artist David Ilan. “The big question is – which group of supporters will win the race to fill the face?”
Here’s how it works:
The first portrait to get a million dots wins The Faceoff! Whose portrait will be ready to hang first – McCain or Obama?
“We’ll have to see if the winner of The Faceoff predicts the winner of the election,” Ilan said. The organizers of “What’s Your Message to the Next President?” state that both portraits will forever be an enduring freeze-frame of the hopes, dreams, experiences and suggestions of the American people at this historic time in our nation’s history. The photographs being used as the inspiration for the two pointillism drawings were provided by the John McCain 2008 campaign and Barack Obama’s Senate Office in Washington, D.C.

Beginning on October 4, 2008 (one month from Election Day), JoinTheDot™ will launch The Million Dot Faceoff. This phase of its ongoing Event for “What’s Your Message to the Next President?” challenges supporters of Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama to go head-to-head to “illustrate” their support by helping to create a presidential portrait of their chosen candidate from millions of hand drawn dots.
This nonpartisan event (now through Election Day), which promotes giving a greater voice to The People and the spirit of positive politics, is being produced in collaboration with Ken Kragen, the legendary social good organizer of “We Are The World” and “Hands Across America.” It is sponsored, in part, by American Airlines, the Official Airline of JoinTheDot™.
