“HANDS FOR HAITI” an acoustic Cirque to benefit Doctors Without Borders
LE STUDIO to produce “HANDS FOR HAITI” an acoustic Santa Monica, Calif., Feb., 1 2010 – Inspirational show creator, Nathalie Yves Gaulthier is set to direct/produce yet another humanitarian show. “Hands for Haiti”, an acoustic grassroots benefit showcase that will feature artists from: Dancing with the Stars, Cirque du Soleil, THIS IS IT! Jackson tour/film, Britney Spears tour, Le Studio advanced team child aerialists and music industry recording artists Aria Johnson, Nomi Abadi and a special surprise guest appearance by THE POLICE’s Stewart Copeland. The 75 minute showcase will feature aerial Trapeze acts, ground acrobatic acts, dance and acoustic sets by renowned recording artists.
Le Studio/Kids in Action is an empowerment based Cirque-style / theatre program for youths in Santa Monica, founded by Gaulthier in 1984 in Montreal, Canada. Gaulthier’s mandate is to heal, empower and inspire through the use of Circus arts and visually empowering productions. Her last show, Jan 15, 2010, Cirque D’Elysium was created for The Art of Elysium and the WE CAN pediatric Brain tumor Network. “We look forward to collaborating with this incredible assortment of artists in order to send some much needed funds to the Doctors without Borders organization. It doesn’t take much, a little goes a long way, and every single penny counts, artists have a lot of power, and a lot of soul”, states Gaulthier.
Artists involved include: Dancing with the stars Dancers (Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo, others TBA), Stewart Copeland, Cirque artists: Jena Carpenter, Lexi Pearl, Petra Sprecher, Autumn Phillips, Danilo Lambo, Maximilliano Torandell, Tania Pierce, Elizabeth Newton, Beth Feldman, Chris Filkins, Morris May and singers: Nomi Abadi, Karla Ross, Molly Chapman and recording artist/singer-songwriter Aria Johnson from NBC‘s David Foster’s Star Tomorrow. Her music has been featured on MTV, NBC, Time Warner, UPN, CBS and Atlantic Records, as well as recently touring with well known multi-platinum acts. Chicago singer/comedienne, Nina Kruse, will MC the evening with Gaulthier along with informative video and speech presentations from Doctors without Borders Doctors returning from Haiti only 48 hrs before the show.
