Summary

Ballantines PR is an award-winning boutique-style luxury and lifestyle public relations agency based in Los Angeles and New York City. Clients range across the hospitality, entertainment, design, health & wellness and events sectors, from Moxy Hotels to Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills to Amazon Studios and many more.

We are seeking a Senior Account Director (SAD) in NYC with a minimum of 5-7 years of professional PR experience to support travel & hospitality accounts and join our growing family of passionate PR pros. The ideal candidate is creative-minded, solution-driven, a natural people-person, an excellent writer and presenter, and a media relations guru!

  • Exceptional writer/creative storyteller with a keen eye for detail

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Intuitive and great with people; ability to effectively engage with clients and identify their needs

  • Thrives under pressure and is able to juggle multiple projects, is results-driven and solution-minded

  • Natural-born leader who enjoys guiding and mentoring a team

  • Possess a firm understanding of the media landscape, including Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned, and able to spot emerging trends within each discipline

  • Willingness to go the extra mile and pursue excellence with every assignment or challenge

  • Loves to travel!

The SAD will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the account work, including:

  • Manage projects from conception to execution on time and within budget

  • Able to bring innovative and creative marketing/press ideas to the table that are on brand, i.e. feature story ideas, collaborations, event concepts

  • Work with team and clients to develop materials, briefings, on-site support and coordinate events and press trips or meetings

  • Thoughtfully counsel clients based on broad communications landscape and business goals; take immediate action on client feedback

  • Supervise staff by mentoring, motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback in order to oversee their professional development

  • Copywriting (including press releases, pitches, PR plans, PowerPoint presentations)

  • Meet/speak with clients regularly and present concepts and results

Education Qualifications

A relevant undergraduate degree such as Communications, Marketing/PR, Journalism or English is required. 5-7 years of professional experience working in-house or at a PR agency in the hospitality and/or entertainment sector.
